Mary Jannette L. Pinzon, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Speech Communication at the Department of Speech Communication and Theater Arts at University of the Philippines, Diliman. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Speech Communication Organization of the Philippines (SCOP). Dr. Pinzon wrote the book: The Rhetorics of Sin, a study about the rhetoric of the late Jaime Cardinal Sin, published in 2011 by the University of the Philippines Press. She co-authored Powerspeak: Oral Communication in Context, a textbook and resource material for Senior High Oral Communication class, published by ABIVA Publishing House. Inc. Her research interests are Interpersonal and Family Communication. At the University of the Philippines, she teaches Public Speaking and Persuasion, Interpersonal Communication, Voice and Diction, among others. Besides University teaching, Dr. Pinzon is also Public Speaking consultant and conducts Effective Communication Skills Training-Workshops and Seminars/Webinars in government agencies, NGOs and corporate groups around the country. She lives in Quezon City, Philippines with her husband and 3 grown-up children.
