Please make sure that you have already been pre-advised before proceeding with your enrollment. Pre-advised courses and adviser’s initials will be reflected in your CRS account.

For reference, here are curriculum checklists per program.
You may have inquiries about which courses to enlist, both inside and outside the department. The lists below may help. Make sure to prioritize the courses included in the curriculum checklists.
Adding or Removing Classes (optional)
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SPEECH 30 CLASSES: Please note that the DSCTA has a NO TEACHER’S PREROG POLICY for its GE courses. If you need a slot in Speech 30 or other courses please queue up via the CRS Waitlisting Module.

The DSCTA allows enlistment via teachers' prerogative only for upper-division courses (Speech Communication and Theatre Arts courses numbered 100 and up) and graduate courses (for MA students).
DSCTA majors and non-DSCTA majors should observe the following procedures in securing a teachers' prerogative for major courses in Speech Communication and Theatre Arts:
-
Contact via official email the Faculty in Charge (FIC) of the course you seek to enlist in.
-
Secure the written approval of the FIC. Enlist in the course and make sure you’re on Waitlisting status in CRS.
-
FIC coordinates your enlistment with the respective Undergraduate Program Head.
-
Undergraduate Program Head facilitates your enlistment in the subject.
-
Check if you are properly admitted to the course.
-
Should you have any issues or concerns, please contact the Undergraduate Program Heads once again.

For DSCTA majors requiring major electives offered within the department
-
DSCTA majors who are unable to get the DSCTA classes they need by the end of the registration period may inform their program advisers.
-
If you find yourself in this situation, please contact your adviser regarding your concern, and list down the classes and sections where you are waitlisted.
-
Your program adviser will let you know if any of your requests may be granted.

For non-DSCTA students:
Sections marked as FULL on the CRS website will no longer accept students, unless an enlisted student cancels their slot prior to the end of the Change of Matriculation period or the faculty in charge decides to increase the number of slots in their course.

For cancellation of slots:
If you need to cancel your slot in any DSCTA course, please inform your program adviser. Your program adviser from your home department (i.e., the faculty member who pre- and post-advises you during registration) can cancel ANY enlisted course offered by ANY department.

If you are having difficulties contacting your registration adviser, you may also send a cancellation request through the DSCTA Academic Affairs committee (dscta-acads.upd@up.edu.ph). Please cc Asst. Prof. Kate Ashlyn N. Dayag-Nonay for Speech Communication (kndayag@up.edu.ph) or Asst. Prof. Popo T. Amascual for Theatre Arts (ptamascual@up.edu.ph). Include your reason for cancelling the course, and attach your Form 5A.

In consultation with the students and their program advisers, the DSCTA has the right to purge students from classes they are unqualified to enlist in or take. Always check if you have taken the prerequisites for courses you plan to pursue.

Consent of Instructor
For BA Theatre Arts and Speech Communication courses that allow a COI (consent of instructor) in lieu of prerequisites, please email the instructor directly. Once approval is given by the FIC, the student needs to fill out the with his or her , secure the signature of the FIC who will then secure for the Chairperson’s approval and send the accomplished form back to the student.
