ADDING AND REMOVING CLASSES
Please note that the DSCTA has a NO TEACHER’S PREROG POLICY for its GE courses. If you need a slot in Speech 30 or other courses please queue up via the CRS Waitlisting Module.

However, the DSCTA allows TEACHER’S PREROG for upper-division courses (Speech Communication and Theatre Arts courses numbered 100 and up) and graduate courses, depending on the class size.

For adding or removing classes, follow the steps below:
-
Contact via official email the Faculty in Charge (FIC) of the course you seek to enlist in.
-
Secure the written approval of the FIC.
-
Enlist in the course and make sure you’re on Waitlisting status in CRS.
-
FIC coordinates your enlistment with the respective Undergraduate Program Head.
-
Undergraduate Program Head facilitates your enlistment in the subject.
-
Check if you are properly admitted to the course.
-
Should you have any issues or concerns, please contact the Undergraduate Program Heads once again.

DSCTA majors who are unable to get the DSCTA classes they need by the end of the registration period may inform their program advisers.
If you find yourself in this situation, please contact your adviser after the pre-enlistment period. List down the classes and sections where you are waitlisted.
Your program adviser will let you know if any of your requests may be granted.

Non-DSCTA majors who fail to secure a slot in any DSCTA courses they need by the last day of the registration period may use the CRS Waitlisting Module. Sections marked as FULL on the CRS website will no longer accept students.
However, an enlisted student may cancel their slot prior to the end of the Change of Matriculation period. A faculty-in-charge may also choose to increase the number of slots in their class.

In consultation with the students and their program advisers, the DSCTA has the right to purge students from classes they are unqualified to enlist in or take. Always check if you have taken the prerequisites for courses you plan to pursue.

For BA Theatre Arts and Speech Communication courses that allow a COI (consent of instructor) in lieu of prerequisites, please email the instructor directly and include the respective email addresses:
-
Undergraduate Program Head for Speech/Theatre
-
Asst. Prof. Holden Kenneth Alcazaren for Speech Communication (hgalcazaren@up.edu.ph)
-
Mr. Jonas Gabriel Garcia for Theatre Arts (jmgarcia17@up.edu.ph)
-
-
Academic Affairs Coordination dscta-acads.upd@up.edu.ph.
Once approval is given by the FIC, the student needs to fill out the form with his or her details and secure the signature of the FIC.
