2026 Speak Up Workshops come to a close

The UP Department of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts (UP DSCTA) closed our 2026 Speak UP Workshops for kids, tweens, and teens last June 11, 2026. Eight sections culminated two weeks of engaged learning with culminating performances, speeches, and debates.

A total of 144 registered participants explored performance and storytelling for kids, basic public speaking for tweens, and advanced public speaking and argumentation for teens. The workshops were facilitated by UP DSCTA faculty members Kate Ashlyn Dayag-Nonay and Marielle Justine Sumilong (Storytelling and Performance for Kids), Justine Alcantara and Ma. Theresa De Guzman (Basic Public Speaking for Tweens), Marc Stanley Mozo, Angel Venniz Gutierrez, Jericho Daniel Igdanes, and Josef Ryan Tosoc (Advanced Public Speaking and Argumentation for Teens).

Our two-day workshops in Effective Communication for Professionals closed last June 13, 2026.

The Speak UP Workshop is a dynamic and interactive program designed by the UP Department of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts to help participants build confidence and express themselves more effectively.
